Marc Lasserre, co-author of the VPLS draft, has more than 15 years of experience in the networking industry and is the author of several IETF drafts related to MPLS VPN standards. As Riverstone Networks' Chief Scientist, Marc is responsible for standards definition and network architecture. Over the years, he has held technology leadership positions at several high tech companies in Silicon Valley where he has been active in the design of Ethernet switches, ATM switches and IP routers. He has worked on system design, protocol design and implementation for such technologies as IP stack, IP over ATM, LANE, Frame Relay, PPP, and MPLS-based Ethernet. Marc is a frequent speaker and has presented at major Telecommunications and Networking conferences throughout the world such as NGN, MPLSCon, SuperNet, MPLS World Congress, MPLS Japan and NCF. He holds a BSCS from the University of Bordeaux, France.
