In the keynote speech, Mr. Andy Purdy, Acting Director, National Cyber Security Division, appealed to attendees to join their sector colleagues to work in collaboration with each other and with the government, using mutually agreed risk management processes, to identify priority needs for future initiatives and
focused applications of limited resources.
The conference consisted of a tutorial, technical sessions and panels with many interesting and thought provoking presentations. The innovative format of sessions offered attendees the opportunity to get engaged and interact with each other and with the presenters in a way not available elsewhere. "This conference makes a multi-disciplinary effort to bridge the gap between the policy world and the technology world in finding solution paths for current and emerging network security challenges," said Guy Copeland, VP and Assistant to the President, Computer Sciences Corporation and Conference General Chair.
Hosted by Isocore, ICNS2006 was supported by Cisco Systems, CSC, Nortel Networks, Sun Microsystems, Motorola, VigilSecurity, and PCCW Global. Dr. Radia Perlman and Dr. Bijan Jabbari were the technical cochairs of the ICNS2006.
