As Director of the Lucent Technologies Chief Technology Office, Peter Busschbach is responsible for technical standards strategy in the area of MPLS, Ethernet and Virtual Private Networks. In his role Mr. Busschbach analyzes key industry market and technology issues and helps to translate these factors into new products and features for Lucent, and for partner companies.

Mr. Busschbach joined Lucent in 1986 and has held various positions in software and hardware development, systems engineering, and key management roles in Technical management, product management and solutions management. In these roles, Mr. Busschbach has driven technology developments in the areas of Access technologies, Optical Networking, IP and MPLS network architectures, and cross platform solutions development.

Mr. Busschbach has authored and holds a U.S. Patent, and has published works in the Bell Labs Technical Journal. Mr. Busschbach's most recent article can be found in America's Network Magazine titled "MPLS Migration - Delivering QoS in an MPLS Core Network."

Mr. Busschbach holds an M. Sc in Mathematics from the Technical University Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Mr. Busschbach is proficient in English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian and German.
