3rd MPLS Public Inter-Operability Demonstration

The 3rd Inter-Operability Testing and Public Demonstration that follows the MPLS 2002 International Conference will include advanced MPLS interoperability features. Demonstration will include a multi-vendor core implementing Fast ReRoute (FRR) and Standby LSPs. Multi-vendor edge boxes will demonstrate interoperability in Layer 2 (Draft Martini) as well as Layer 3 (BGP) VPNs.

The objective of this public event is to provide an opportunity for networking equipment vendors to demonstrate to carriers and service providers the new capabilities and features of MPLS in a multi-vendor environment, and therefore, pave the way for the field trials.

Event Details

The 3rd Inter-Operability Testing and Public Demonstration will be held at the Internetworking Lab of Isocore office in McLean, Viginia. Participating vendors include Avici Systems, Cisco Systems, CoSine Communications, Extreme Networks, Foundry Networks, Ixia, Juniper Networks, Lucent Technologies, Marconi, NetTest, Redback Networks, Spirent Communications, and more.

The event will include private staging followed by public Inter-Op demonstrations open to carriers, guests of demonstrating vendors, analysts, press, and other selected invitees. Detailed test plans for the MPLS Inter-Op have been prepared by the Internetworking Lab of Isocore and reviewed by all participating companies. The staging test results will be kept confidential and treated as such - unless participating companies approve the release of information.
